COVID-19 UPDATES

COVID-19 UPDATES

August 25, 2020

Quaker Oats Credit Union is continually monitoring the environment in Cedar Rapids and making adjustments as necessary based on recommendations of local officials and the CDC. The following are the most current details related to our efforts to manage the COVID-19 pandemic.

Communication
If we find it necessary to make swift changes to operations, we will alert you to these changes by:

    • updating the COVID-19 page on our website,
    • sending an email,
    • sending an alert via online banking,
    • updating the notification bar on the website, and
    • sharing the information on Facebook.

Lobby- Temporarily Closed

Effective Tuesday, August 25th, the lobby will be temporarily closed until further notice due to a COVID-19 outbreak within our membership.  Unfortunately, members who have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been recommended to quarantine by the CDC have been visiting the credit union.  As you know, the credit union staff is small and works very closely.  If one of the credit union staff were to test positive, we would be forced to shut down the credit union to quarantine. We’ve made these swift changes in operations to prevent a quarantine closure of the credit union.

While the lobby is temporarily closed, we will continue to serve members who have not tested positive for COVID-19 or are not under CDC quarantine orders via the drive-up and by appointment.  Members seeking an in-person appointment will be required to complete a health screening and temperature check before entering the credit union.

Once this situation stabilizes, we will reopen the lobby.  We strongly encourage all members to follow the CDC guidelines to prevent the continued spread of COVID-19 within our community.  Thank you for working in partnership with QOCU to help us do our part to fight the spread of COVID-19. Your health and the health of our employees, families, and community is our highest priority.

Face Coverings

  • Staff will be wearing face coverings for your protection.
  • Face masks or face coverings are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED by all members visiting the lobby or the drive-up at the credit union while we manage this outbreak.

Drive-Up
While the lobby is temporarily closed, we will continue to serve members who have not tested positive for COVID-19 or are not under CDC quarantine orders via the drive-up.  Our drive-up is open Monday – Thursday 8 am to 4:30 pm, Fridays 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and closed daily from 1 pm to 2 pm for lunch.  The use of our drive-up is strongly encouraged for in-person transactions.

Appointments
While the lobby is temporarily closed, we will continue to serve members who have not tested positive for COVID-19 or are not under CDC quarantine orders by appointment.  Members seeking an in-person appointment will be required to complete a health screen and temperature check before entering the credit union. Members needing in-person service are asked to call the credit union at 319-395-7060 to schedule an appointment.

Account Access
We encourage members to use the variety of online, mobile, and contact-free services we offer to access your QOCU accounts, apply for loans, and get the information you need.

If you need help using any of these services, please contact the credit union.

Social Distancing Changes
For your safety and protection, the following changes have been made:

    • Clear plexiglass barriers have been installed at the teller line.
    • Floor decals have been installed to encourage social distancing.
    • We’ve removed everything from the lobby that can’t be appropriately sanitized.
    • Restrooms will be unavailable due to safety concerns.
    • Sanitizing stations have been installed in the lobby for your convenience.
    • Staff will be disinfecting surfaces and equipment after serving each member.

Pandemic Assistance
If you or a family member find yourself facing financial difficulties or struggling to make loan payments due to the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic due to:

    • Reduced work schedule

    • Caring for someone who is sick
